Autumn newsletter…on its way to you

But here’s a sneak preview… Autumn is here and with it a packed programme for September – from the Hort Soc show to Harvest Service and Supper at St John’s Church.

Its been a busy summer for Bellingdon & Asheridge residents — with the fete, two separate dance festivals at the hall, the Summer weekend at the church and much more. Reports on some of the goings on inside!

We must congratulate Bellingdon resident Dan Eckersley on his selection for the England U18s Rugby team. Dan travelled to South Africa with the team, where they played three matches against Argentina, France and South Africa. Well done Dan!

September is looking extremely busy and we hope, particularly, to see as many people as possible at the Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning on 27th September from 10-12 in the hall. This is an extremely worthy cause and who can turn down a piece of cake and a cuppa?

TONIGHT 6:30 pm Pub Night

~ BAACA

Don’t forget it’s pub night tonight – and the BBQ is back for (possibly, weather depending ) its final appearance of the year!

Football for the U14s starts at 5pm sharp, the bbq will be on and ready to cook from about 6:30. There will be drinks and nibbles available in the bar too, as well as lots of pub games – pool, darts, cards and table tennis.

AND the opportunity to chat with your neighbours…what more could you want?

Pub night – THIS FRIDAY 16th August

We’ll be hosting another BBQ pub night alongside Friday night football for the kids (U14s only, be ready to play at 5pm). Many thanks to Gary Woodley for organising the football and BBQ, Don Baker, Ken Ives, Hugh Griffiths, Jules Eyles and many others for the rest of the pub night. All additional offers of help welcome!

Forró Fest – August Bank Holiday Weekend

We’re pleased to welcome back Forró Fest UK to the hall and grounds over the August Bank Holiday weekend, bringing a little bit of Brazilian sunshine, food and music to our village.

Julia and her team are welcoming any local residents who would like to participate in a FREE session on Sunday 25th August – details below. No booking required, simply turn up and ask for Julia.

New classes & summer camp at the Village Hall!

We’re super excited to announce that EMC Dance will be starting a variety of dance classes at the hall from September and will be running a half day summer camp on 9th August as an introduction. Places are limited and booking up fast so please get in touch with EMC Dance ASAP! See poster for details.

Village Fete 2019

Well the sun shone (a little too much) and we unfortunately had no choice but to cancel the fun dog show in the interests of our canine friends’ welfare. However the rest of the fete went ahead and we are extremely grateful to all the helpers who turned out despite the heat. Who would’ve thought it would be too hot in this green and pleasant land of ours?
