St John’s Bellingdon – Sunday Service 19th July 2020

Dear all

It’s Saturday again and so time to uploaded the service for St John’s Bellingdon for Sunday 19th July onto YouTube. This week we’re back to what passes for normal with our usual format of Morning Worship.

This week our Psalm is Psalm 139 verses 1-12 and readings are Genesis 28:10-19 and Matthew 13:24-30,36-43 and they are read by Eileen. Jane is leading our intercessions.

It is on the Parish YouTube channel as usual – and this link should take you there https://youtu.be/DQ2URCpFBbk

but it may be as quick to look for the same place as usual and hopefully you’ll find it!

As before the service is available after 09.45 tomorrow when it goes public (and live)!

Attached are the Parish Notice Sheet and the St Mary’s Notice Sheet.

With prayers and best wishes to you all

St John’s Bellingdon – Sunday Service 5th July 2020

Dear all

It’s Saturday again and so time to uploaded the service for St John’s Bellingdon for Sunday 5th July onto YouTube. This week we’ve got a Summer Songs of Praise with our on line flower festival! And thanks to all who provided flowers – it was really good to see some of you yesterday as you ‘safely’ delivered your arrangements.

Fionnagh and I recorded the service in church so its a bit more like being back- but still a time before we think it will be safe to gather there for our morning services! Fionnagh tells me I appear to have a halo in some pictures – but it was just the bright light!

This week we have just one reading (read by Fionnagh) -Psalm 145 – we recorded Fionnagh reading it so you’ll need your bibles ready as the words aren’t on the screen. But we have six hymns/songs as we would have if we’d been in church.

It is on the Parish YouTube channel as usual – and this link should take you there https://youtu.be/lkTFcyMY6RQ but it may be as quick to look for the same place as usual and hopefully you’ll find it!

As before the service is available after 09.45 tomorrow when it goes public (and live)!

Attached are the Parish Notice Sheet and the St Mary’s Notice Sheet.

And next week we’ve got a join service with St John’s Ashley Green. St George’s Tylers Hill and Christchurch Waterside. The service will be on the Parish Youtube site. We’ll send the link for the service with any more details needed. With prayers and best wishes to you all

A new Chapter for Chesham

A new community bookshop, Chapter Two, is opening in Chesham, with all profits going to support The Hospice of St Francis which helps local people affected by cancer or a life-limiting illness.

The bookshop, at 10 High street, has sustainability at its heart, giving new life to once-cherished books and re-using materials inside the shop from donated bookcases to reading tables and chairs. Visitors are encouraged to pop in and browse the books from the ever-changing collection whilst enjoying a coffee. They can also take inspiration from the curated gift collection of stationery, cards, vinyl records or bespoke items created by the Hospice’s Creates & Makes volunteer team.

With a dedicated children’s area and plans for workshops from book binding to book origami and novel writing to reading groups, it will be a community space for all plus offer the chance to find out more about the work of the Hospice (which has cared for people from Chesham for over 40 years) with ‘Meet the nurse’ events and other information events planned.

Chapter Two will be open seven days a week. Donations of good quality books during opening hours are always welcome. Find out more about Chapter Two, The Hospice of St Francis and its free services at www.stfrancis.org.uk/chaptertwo.
