It’s Saturday evening again and so I’ve uploaded the service for St John’s Bellingdon for Sunday 17th May onto Youtube. This week we’re on the third week of our series on the Beatitudes and this weeks readings are:

Romans 7:21-25

Matthew 5:1-12 (as last week and the week before!)

As before those with internet linked televisions you should be able to watch it there and find it by searching but only after 09.45 tomorrow when it goes public (and live) but the link should work or you can look for the Great Chesham YouTube channel!

The plan is as before – to follow the service at 10.00 on Sunday – but of course you can be flexible!

We were planning to have tea & cakes at the hall to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE day (8th May) but obviously that’s not now possible.

The formal celebrations have been delayed until later in the year but we’d like to join in the mini celebrations on the 8th – raise a glass (or cuppa) at 3 pm in honour.

You may like to decorate your house in red, white and blue – and if feasible while maintaining social distance why not do so outside your house to join with your neighbours?

Also you might be interested in the virtual Prom Praise concert this evening at 7.30pm called “a festival of hope”.

The annual All Souls Prom Praise at the Royal Albert Hall would have been this evening, were it not for lockdown. The theme they felt led to choose months ago for this evening was ‘to the ends of the earth’ – little did they know then God’s plans for that leading!
